types

The type system in Sehto is somewhat different from that in the games. The most notable differences are as follows:

  1. There are two additional types: Light and Blood. Several pokémon of these types can be found on Sehto.
  2. In terms of strengths and weaknesses, there are a few new possible interactions that don't fall into the standard strength/normal/weakness/immunity categories. Specifically, types can now absorb damage from other types. For example, if a Grass pokémon were to be hit by a Water-type attack, they would take no damage, but instead heal half the damage the attack would have dealt.
    1. When it comes to mixed-type pokémon, the rule of thumb is as follows: If both of a pokémon's types absorb a particular damage type (such as Grass and Light absorbing Light), that pokémon heals the sum of what they'd heal if they were each of the individual types. If only one of a pokémon's types absorbs a particular damage type, the pokémon heals as if they were only that type. Otherwise, mixed-type pokémon behave as normal.
    2. Other than a few types now absorbing certain types of damage rather than resisting it (Poison, Fire, and Dark absorb themselves, Electric absorbs Steel, and Grass absorbs Ground and Water), the original 17 types still behave exactly as they did in Gen. II-V.
