"I certainly don't advise lying, but you consciously made the choice to go on the circuit - you didn't sleep walk through it. It's more of a question of focus - you knew it wasn't //necessary// to circuit, you knew your pokémon could get seriously hurt by it, and you knew your Chatbuoyancy misunderstands a lot of things.
